Well, so far we've had a fun/traumatic Halloween day. I told the girls they could wear their costumes to the grocery store this morning. Claire got into it, while Riley just wasn't sure it was the thing to do. On one hand, she was afraid people would laugh at her becuase it wasn't officially trick-or-treating time. On the other hand, she was afraid that if she wasn't dressed up and someone was handing out candy, she wouldn't get any in her plain clothes. In the end she did not dress up and there were many tears over this decision. So when we were parked at the g-store I hugged Riley and told her I was sorry the morning was so sad for her. Then Claire said, "Rahley, I'm sorry for when I'm mean to you so many times." Riley started laughing and said, "Claire, you weren't mean to me today." Claire said, "No, I mean tomOOOROW." She meant yesterday. It was cute.
A nice lady was handing out candy after all, and all 3 girls got some. And we saw our long lost grocery store lady friend who used to work there and give the girls a quarter to ride the horse. So the girls got a quarter to ride the horse too. It ended up being a super morning.
I'll let you know how trick-or-treating goes.
