This is the piece of art Claire has longed to create for a couple of months now. I just kept hesitating to save her pile of fingernails (because it's gross, but mainly because I feared Lola would find and eat them), but Nathan collected all her clippings recently and she turned them into stars, in the scene of a sheep and shepherd traveling by the light of the moon and sparkly stars. :)

Claire is creative and caring
Hope this doesn't gross you out.

I just kept hesitating to save her pile of fingernails (because it's gross, but mainly because I feared Lola would find and eat them), but Nathan collected all her clippings recently and she turned them into stars, in the scene of a sheep and shepherd traveling by the light of the moon and sparkly stars. :)
This afternoon I trimmed a bush. She mourned the bunnies' loss of protection and the branches loss of life. She adopted one lone branch and watered the ground to make it soft enough to recieve the stab of her baby tree. She propped it in between two chairs and then wrapped it with a baby blanket to keep it warm. Then later I saw her cleaning each leaf with a baby wipe.

I laughed so long and hard on this. What a sweet girl you have! I love how carefully she is caring for the bush trimmings. And the fingernail clipping art is definitely something you should store away and bring out at her high school graduation...
Oh my! Fingernail art is the new craze among 5 year olds! Who knew?!
