This has been a reading spring/summer for me. Some of the good ones have been:
Jane Ayre
A Tale of Two Cities - Charles Dickens
Feed Your Face: Younger, Smoother Skin and a Beautiful Body in 28 Delicious Days
Till We Have Faces - C.S. Lewis
Anna Karenina - Leo Tolstoy
Bonhoeffer (Only the first half. It's not for moms. We're too sleepy.)
Bossypants by Tina Fey (huh-larious)
Brothers Karamazov
Crime and Punishment
The Great Divorce - Lewis
Should I read The Happiness Project? Sounds a little cheesy and it's probably not the gospel, but I may still read it.
Little Dorrit - Charles Dickens
A Praying Life - Paul Miller
Pride and Prejudice - Jane Austen
Wuthering Heights - Emily Bronte
I just finished That Hideous Strength by Lewis, but it didn't get exciting until I was halfway through it.
So if you're looking for a book to finish out the summer, I recommend any of these.
If you're wondering when I could possibly have time to read, I find my moments. While the girls are in the tub and shower, while I ride my stationary bike, after the kids are in bed. Sometimes I go hide behind the black curtain on the stage in the playroom when the kids are whiny (just for a 10 minute break). :)

I'm impressed... that's a lot of books! I'm a huge fan of most of the books you listed... That Hideous Strength is one of my favorites, but I hear you, there's a lot of stage-setting at the beginning! But then it gets crazy for real.
I say read the Happiness Project and review it for lazy people like me. Plus, maybe I'm getting liberal here in STL but it seems like there is at least some gospel in almost everything...
dang! I'm impressed too! That's about ow many books I've read in the past umm 10 years haha okay maybe an exaggeration :)
and that makes me feel better about the hideous strength. I couldn't make myself keep going! looks like I need to keep trying :)
Hideous Strength is part of a trilogy... so that might be part of it. I started the Happiness Project. I loved it, but was annoyed with the marriage chapter. Tyler said "Don't read that! It's not the gospel!" But I agree with Alisha. You're an awesome reader.
