Some Handiwork

Today is the day I reveal that big secret I'm sure kept you from enjoying your egg nog, you were so anxious to know what in the world I poured over for my family members' Christmas gifts.  I want you to enjoy your black-eyed peas and your New Year in general, so I'll reveal it now.

This first one was a hasty attempt and kind of a joke, but then I ended up liking it.  It's my sister, her husband and their child, Charlotte.  I figured they could hang it in their basement to scare people.  :)

And somehow I didn't take pictures on Christmas day, so this is the only purse I photographed.  The others were this gray pinstripe with a stone-white accent, and the other was a creamy print with dark brown faux leather accent.  Also, my iPhone makes this yellow twice as bright as it actually is.  It was Nathan's idea and he picked out the pattern for me.  Awesome guy.

Sadly, I didn't take a picture of my Mom's painting.  I worked on something for a month and it stunk, so I trashed it and on Christmas Eve I had the girls help me paint flowers in a field with a gray cloudy sky and they put their initials at the bottom.  Somehow, our couple of hours of work ended up being quite superior to my original attempt.  Thank the Lord.  And we put it in a pretty awesome frame.  Maybe I'll snap a picture of it and share it later.

I also worked all day on a robe for my brother and it was a huge joke.  Don't tell him.  I'll try again next year.

my purse was the cutest anyway. Everyone that sees is says, "Oh my gosh, that's so you. Where'd you get it?!" I tell them you made it and then they flip out and look the whole purse over and can't believe it's homemade. Good job. And I love my painting.
