I'm too excited to wait until things are completely done before I can share the exciting changes. And we changed our minds last night about some colors and where they should go, so the project will be extended, and I can't be quiet about it that long.
So here is the new tile and some paneling in the back.
Nathan has been working so hard on this. He laid this tile Valentines night while I sipped port and handed him sheets of tile. It was very romantic. The next night he grouted. The next night he cut trim. The next night he painted trim. He's good at this stuff.
Now let me tell you about a project fail. I couldn't even bear to take a picture. You would have laughed and I don't want you to laugh at me. Haha.
So this pattern I was using for my bridesmaid dress told me to measure myself and go by those measurements, using their little chart to determine what size pattern I should use. I thought it odd, but I obeyed, and judging by their little chart I needed to use the pattern that was 4 sizes bigger than the size I would normally wear.
I'm such an airhead. I should have called my mother-in-law. I poured over this thing for days and it looked so goofy. But I was determined, so I poured over it hours more, convincing myself I could make it work.
I recall one of my friends saying I should make sure I use the right type of material. She was right. This was the right color, but wrong type of material for this pattern.
Eventually, when I zipped it up and saw how hopelessly odd and huge it was, I decided to stop devoting my life to it, and go back to cooking, cleaning, and bathing (Every time I have a sewing project, the house gets very dirty, dinner stinks, and so do I).
So, I'm back to shopping.
Oh, here is another project fail. Healthy ice cream. I used almond milk and no heavy cream. It becomes milk again very quickly.
But she sure is a cute helper.
