I think I've killed the last of these nightmarish guys.
I got the girls signed up for swimming lessons. By the end of next week, I think I will have 3 swimmers and I will call this summer a great success. We've attended a few YMCA swim lessons and it never took. I think this time will be different. I feel it in my bones.
I watched some video on painting clouds. I love the idea of a subtle rainbow emerging out of a gray cloud bank. Rainbows are beautiful in the sky, but I'm not a huge fan of a Roy G Biv color scheme in my home, usually, because it reminds me of a little girls' bedroom.
But I do love that God gives a sign of His promise to all generations, not just that He would never again cut off all flesh by the waters of the flood, but that the rainbow is a "battle-bow" hung in the sky, pointed away from earth.
From the Jesus Story Book Bible - "God's strong anger against hate and sadness and death would come down once more - but not on His people, or His world. No, God's war bow was not pointing down at His people. It was pointing up, into the heart of Heaven."
I love that. So, I want to paint it. It is going to be tricky for it to not look like a cartoon rainbow. Some day, I'll show you my rainbow and hopefully you won't laugh.
Ha, I keep saying I'll show you my curtains and ottomans and paintings that I heaven't even begun to work on. I'm good at dreaming this stuff up, but it's hard to make it happen.
Someone asked me the other day if I was considering going back to work now that the girls are getting older, and that horrified me. I just thought, "Do I have to?" I just like being a mom and look forward to being able to keep the house cleaner and sew more often. Maybe if I Etsy a few things I can tell people I work from home and they'll think my work is legit. Okay, that's my 5-year plan. I'll perfect my rainbow paintings and sell them on Etsy.
