2 days and counting

School's almost out.

Lola and I made a ziplock, straw balloon.

Remember 12 years ago when I sanded and painted the bottom cabinets?  Okay, it was just one year ago.  Still shameful.
I finally took my top cabinet doors off yesterday.  Sand them today.  Prime them tomorrow, and so on and so forth.  The girls came in from school and asked, "Are we moving?!"  Silly kids.  Yes, you know how you always remove doors before you move. :)

Claire and Kate loved Cati.  They always took him out of his jar and taught him tricks.  But he was never able to eat enough leaves, nor did he have a stick to climb to get a good cocoon going.  This is Cati only slightly wrapped in silk.  The poor guy tried.  We awoke to the girls crying this morning when they found him in his failed wrapping at the bottom of the jar.

I think the start of summer is a great time to make a couple of summer resolutions.

Resolution #1- I think I'll be a better mom with all the kids home if I stay off of Facebook.  Lent was a pretty quality time and I didn't even miss it.  I'm mad at myself for falling back into checking it so often.    Check out the "What my kids said" quote on the top right.  That was Lola yesterday.  Shameful, huh?  She is hilarious, though.
She was repeating everything I said yesterday and I asked, "Are you making fun of me?"  She said, "No, I'm just cheesing."  She means teasing. :)

Resolution #2 - Gluten free, baby!  Why not?  If I have my coffee, I can do anything.  This usually doesn't last long, but I'm really going to try.

For any of you girls who have nights where you have a chance to watch a Netflix series without the husband, I've been watching Call the Midwives.  Nathan couldn't handle it, so I watch it on nights that he's working.  It's pretty good.  Much better for my heart than The Walking Dead.
