I'm public for the time being. Here is part 2 of our France trip.
The Lourve was more incredible than I anticipated. Sometimes museums don't excite me.
Outside the Louvre
The large format French paintings were my favorite. I stood like this staring at them for a while.
See what I mean? More emotional than even a photograph. And they're bigger than our living room. I love it.
These were 500-yr-old wood carvings. Incredible up close looking at the folds of their robes. How did they do that?!
Lots of statues.
We did see Miss Mona from a distance.
They had a little cafe in the Louvre. We needed coffee.
On the way I decided I needed to hold the Eiffel tower in my hand. The girls loved this one.
The arch is very large.
From the top we saw how far we had walked from the Louvre through the Champs ("The most beautiful Avenue in the world").
From the top of the Arc
We crossed a few bridges over the Seine. This one was covered in pad-locks with couple's names on them. I guess you're supposed to throw the key in the Seine and your love will be eternal. We did not secure a Weber lock. Only time will tell if was a bad decision.
Versailles
Huge is the best description for this place. Opulent, outrageous, gorgeous, wasteful. :) This guy had endless resources and man-power at his disposal, and produced some pretty grand things.
The hall of mirrors
Nathan standing under some great trees.
They don't turn on the fountains until 3pm. so these are some non-flowing fountains.

We rested by one of the ponds with a panini lunch.
Nathan says "no" to the begging swan.
We were so tired when we got back to Paris that evening. We went for a slow walk and sat by the Seine. This was a happy moment.
