Photo shoot with Dad.
This is after we'd had some good coffee. At this point it was still sinking in that we didn't have to change any diapers that morning. We were pretty giddy with the whole situation.I am back from my most wonderful weekend trip to St. Louis with my family (thanks to my generous parents and awesome husband who stayed with the kids). So my parents, sisters and I went to visit sister Shannon and her husband Tyler, and just had a ball.
But I am slow to get back into the groove of things here. Nathan had to do the dishes this morning because I hadn't done my usual clean-out-the-sink-before-I-go-to-bed routine. Actually I did zero dishes the first day home. We had to laugh at how slow I am at getting back into the swing of waking before 8, cooking and cleaning, rather than shopping, eating out, and just plain chilling all day long. Oh, it was medicine to my soul.
It was also very good to miss my kids SO much. I sang "nighty-night" over the phone and tried not to cry. Notice the quote on the right from Claire the first night I was back.
Nathan surprised me by bringing the kids to the airport (past their bedtime) to meet me. What an excited, tearful, big-squeezy-hugs moment. So sweet.
So it's so sweet to be home and it was so great to get away.

Your face maybe looks strange in pictures - at least the one's I posted! That's too funny.
