A sweet morning

Nathan went and saw Avett brothers last night so he was home way late. Neither of us wanted to get out of bed this morning, which isn't uncommon. Lola was actually still sleeping at 7am so we encouraged the other girls to turn on the computer and play some PBSkids.org. I heard the stool across the tile floor in the kitchen and heard the fridge door open, so I knew they were wanting their juice and breakfast and told myself lying in bed was worth the mess I'd have to clean up in 5 minutes. It was so worth it. A few minutes later Claire came in giggling and happy as can be with a plate of bagels for Nathan and I. They were piled SO high with cinnamon and sugar and untoasted because she couldn't get the toaster out (thankfully). Then she brought us glasses overflowing with orange juice and said, "You can eat your breakfast in bed!" Then got tickeld with her self and bounced away giggling. We were thoroughly enjoying our breakfast and spilling cinnamon and sugar all over the sheets when she came in again with a card for each of us. This is Claire for ya. She gets so excited about any project that involves making something special for others. It was the sweetets thing.

Later in the morning we headed to the grocery store. I love my old grocery store that I've gone to for 7 years. I hate relearning the set-up of a new grocery store. Maybe it's just that I'm not used to it, but I think the store 2 minutes from our new house is totally unorganized and I cant' find a thing. So I drive past 2 grocery stores and through construction work to go to my good ol' grocery store that I've brought all my babies to. I can run through that store so fast. I have it memorized. And I love the people there. They know my kids, and I think they even love my kids. We get a warm welcome as soon as we enter. The produce man follows us and tells us how his wife and kids are doing. The deli lady gives us cheese and chats with Kate. In the check-out line Richard tries his best to get Claire to say hi to him. She won't, so he talks to me about the lost art of making our own clothes. This is the same guy who once showed me what a great PeeWee Herman voice he could do, loudly. He's funny. Chloe makes Lola laugh and says she looks like Riley did when she was a baby. It's just plain fun to have friends at your grocery store. What a pleasant trip! I don't know if I'll ever switch.

When I go in there they're always smiling at me a lot. I was confused at first and then I remembered that they know I'm your sister.
