Probably 20 minutes of work would have our Roman shades hanging in our windows, but we couldn't manage it this weekend. However, Nathan did get 4 more doors sanded, so I can prime and paint them whenever I jolly well please. He also hung a light in our hall, so now I can see all the places I painted blindly. Oh well. We've got to finish our lighting projects soon so we can blow insulation into the attic before it gets too cold.
So that's the house project update.
I didn't go to church yesterday morning because it was a rough night. It wasn't the kids so much. It was CRICKETS. Actually one very loud cricket that I couldn't find. Around 11pm I thought, "there may as well be a little girl in my bedroom screaming." After a few hours of this, I was half mad. So I went cricket hunting for a solid half hour. Take a couple of steps and he'd be quiet, I'd wait until he started chirping again and go in the direction I thought the noise was coming from. I took a turn around a corner once and stood still for 10 minutes until he chirped again and let me know I'd taken a wrong turn. Oh the agony. Eventually he stopped chirping and I got back in bed around 3am. Then Lola woke at 5:30, so she and I took a morning nap and then the coffee made me super woman for the rest of the day. And the house is still clean. Yay!
I'm not sure if I've mentioned this before, but I was reminded last night at the Redeemer Owasso church plant of how good a book is that I'd love to recommend to everyone. It's called A Praying Life by Paul Miller. While I was reading that, I simultaneously read What Did You Expect by Paul Tripp. It's a great book on marriage. Both go straight to the heart of the matter. Get 'em!
Lastly, I am very excited about the dress Ange found at AE for me to wear to my cousin's wedding this weekend. It was $9! It's a size 12, but I was able to do surgery on it and make it fit. What a find. :)
