When there's a weekend full of fun to anticipate, I find myself super charged. Today has been great after zumba with Alyson, and then going to my parents to find Shannon, Ange, eggs and bacon with coffee, I was pretty darn content.
But there's more fun to come! Looking forward to and planning for that fun, I had to run to the g-store, after picking the girls up from school. It's been a while since I've taken all 4 of them to the g-store. In fact, I think I probably told you about it the last time I did it. I had a long list and an unblievable number of slow walkers in front of me, really contemplating calorie content while they blocked the aisle and oh, how Lola screamed and cried. I remained polite because I'm just pretty happy about this weekend (well, and I'm just pretty polite:)). My little sister, Shannon is in town and I'm spending half the day with her tomorrow. Then my cousin's wedding is on Sunday and that will be great fun.
So while a lady smacking her gum completely ignored me as she blocked the aisle with her cart while trying to make a healthy ice cream choice, Lola kept screaming because she turns around backward in the cart seat and then is uncomfortably strapped in, and Kate ran down the aisle and I called to her as un-yelling as possible, and Riley dug in my purse for gum, hindering me from rescuing Lola or chasing Kate (which I actually refuse to do). I thought surely the gum smacking lady would see my plight and move her cart just a little. I'm pretty sure it would be impossible to miss us 3 feet from your cart. I was consciously keeping my face kind while I told myself, "Don't hate her. Look at her, she's excited about what kind of ice cream she is going to eat tonight. Don't hate her. Love her." And then she slowly turned around, still heavily smacking her gum, ran her eyes over my situation and took her precious time scanning the freezer section for 7 more seconds. Oh my.
Anyway...she has her reasons, I'm sure. My smart little sister says, "always ask why." Why does a lady grow bitter and mean? Why is she so insecure that she can't look kindly at me, have understanding for my noisy kids and extend some grace? I don't know, but when I think about the possibilities of "why" it makes me sad for her. Maybe she didn't get much grace and kind looks herself.
Well, I chased a little rabbit there. Haha, I'm like the double rainbow guy:
The smacking lady won't move out of the way. What does this meeeean? If you haven't seen the video, I'm sorry. Youtube double rainbow. It's entertaining.

healthy ice cream - oh dear.
Entertaining, yes. I'm sorry about the lady. That's so frustrating.
I just say "Excuse me" while I "accidentally" bump into them and then they move. Just kidding, I try not to do that but sometimes it happens.
