Gee, it seems like I should start painting something again soon. I've been painting something in this house for the past year and a half, and now that the den is done I've gotten into the not-painting groove, which is rather relaxing.
I need to hire Nathan to get a few things fixed in the den bath and then I could paint in there.
Oh ya, Lola's room walls are still brown with patches and the snot of the juveniles who slept there before her. Just kidding, I washed the walls the other day, finally. It's hard to get the room painted that belongs to the napping child.
Tomorrow is Festivale. It's the school fund raiser/dinner/auction and it's fun. Nathan's mom helped me make a "Faces of the Future" quilt to auction off there. The kids in Claire's class drew self portraits of themselves in the future on squares of fabric, and we made them all into a quilt. It's darn cute.
I'm also making my famous chocolate chip and walnut sandwich cookies with chocolate ganache for the dessert auction. You can spend a lot of money at these things.
Ah, my trip is coming up quickly. I'm getting more and more excited and more sad as the days tick by. Kate climbed into our bed this morning and she's very into kisses and hugs. She kissed my forehead and kissed my arm and gave a squinty nose smile and Nathan asks, "How are you going to leave that for 10 days?" Lola does sweet things constantly and I know I'll cry on day 2 away from her. She's going to be all grown up and saying 20 new words by the time I get back. I'll miss Riley's volume and goofiness and Claire's 7 sweet cards a day.
Evidence continues to point to my being an airhead. Aside from my being handicapped with a calendar, I also make such blunders at ordering clothing online. I just wanted some good ol' skinny cords since it will still be cold in London. JCPenny had some cute ones left on sale. It wasn't until I got my confirmation email that I realized they were a little girl's size _ rather than an adult size. I just figured if I put "women's cords" in the search that's what they'd show me. Well, they'll be perfect for Riley this fall.

You're going to London? How fun!!! With who?
Yes! Nathan's mom is taking her daughter and I and another friend just because it's a good time in all our lives to finally take a girl trip.
