It's good to read good books

I'm reading Francis Chan right now.  I don't think he's Presbyterian.  He used to be Baptist, then charismatic, and he doesn't even say what he is now.  A friend told me to read Forgotten God: Reversing Our Tragic Neglect of the Holy Spirit.  But his first book is Crazy Love, which another one of my friends has told me to read, so I read that first.  I think he's pretty right.

What do you do when it rains all spring break?  Well, you read good books when the kids will let you.  You give in one day and drink some coffee.  You go ahead and run errands even though it's pouring and the kids are crying.  I did those things and then I got so bored of all the indoor thing I could possibly do, I painted something.  A pair of white doves in tall grass.  I'm not sure what I think of it yet.  I'll take lessons some day and be much happier with myself.

I almost feel empty not having wedding dresses to sew or wedding shoe shopping to do, or wedding hair-do's to search for on Pinterest.
Wooo! Did I let myself go after the wedding.  I had been detoxifying myself.
Days before the wedding my voice was gone so I was being as healthy as possible, going to bed early, even drinking straight apple cider vinegar.  It's so good for you and I heard it could heal a throat.  When family came into town and had dinner at our house, they took Apple Cider Shots with me, for dessert.  It was fun.  You all should try it.

My voice was just there enough to kind of yell out the song and be heard.
But as soon as those two said "I do", I took off my heels, drank some wine, ate meat, gluten and dairy, drank coffee the next day...I really let myself go.  It was fun while it lasted.  But then my tummy hurt, my skin was bad, and I was grumpy.  It's like magic.

On a much lovelier note, here are some of the most precious girls I know.  The champagne dresses are the ones I made.  Riley actually sewed Lola's green skirt with Grandma's help.

I read part of that book, and watched the youtubes along with it. He is right, but his energy made me sleepy, so I stopped reading it. Pretty awesome girls.
