My Twin is Married

It's funny, cause it's not like we all lived at home together, but there is something only slightly, slightly bittersweet about our sister getting married.  Shannon, Al and I had a moment on the back deck after the ceremony.  I was actually running over my speech and letting them tell me what parts were stupid and what parts were awesome.
I think we all agreed it's just big changes that remind you that things aren't going to stay the same.  You're not going to share a bed with your sister your whole life.  I think it's just that other little piece of her that belongs to Ol' Bobby now. :) We do love Bob.
Maybe that's just sentimental silliness, but we still feel it.
But of course, overwhelmingly more than my missing having Ange all to myself, I am SO HAPPY for her.  If I start to thank the Lord for what He's done in her life, I'll just cry every time.  It just pops into my head throughout the day that she and Bob have each other, and it make me so happy.

It was a little stressful with the little ones, but mostly just a bunch of cute going on.  I'll put pictures up soon.
Shannon and I sang The Love of Christ is Rich and Free.  Kate tried to hang her flower girl basket on a candelabra, and then ran off to Daddy in the middle of the ceremony.  But Daddy was trying to film the ceremony.  Oh well.  We knew she would be a little unpredictable.

I do not talk to crowds of people well.  Usually more than 6ish people makes me start to feel on the spot.  Singing is easy enough, but speaking is frightening because it's my own words, and I have a fear that my words won't be awesome enough.  I'm kind of handicapped in that area.
But here I am, the Matron of Honor.  Well, a glass of wine helped, but I think when your heart is overflowing it makes nervousness a non-issue.  I was pleased to discover only minimal trembling in my hands when I raised my wine glass to toast the lovely couple.

Then just when you thought the party was dying down a helicopter showed up to whisk them away.  All along we thought, "This is an awesome idea!" Then when that huge spinning blade was about 30 feet from my children, I realized how terribly wrong it could go.  Thankfully all was well and we blew bubbles at them while they ran to the chopper.  We waved and cheered as they flew away.  It was just a perfect evening with precious people.  Such a happy time.

I cried when I saw Ange was "Angela Hurt" on facebook. Yes, bittersweet. I'm a freak though. Lovely and true post.

That chopper was scary, yes. But cool. And, your speech was seriously the best I remember from any wedding. You sounded like a confident, experienced speech-giver.
It was so great to see you and Nate and the girls and your new and improved house.
