Let's chat to avoid working out

I've been seeing a lot of crickets lately.  Walking into the grocery store, I heard a choir of them, and we didn't get the strawberries because it sounded like they were living in the crate full of them.  Then on the way out the door, I realized that every step I took I almost stepped on one.  Weird!  They were just meandering up the parking lot into the front door of the grocery store.  Almost plague-ish.

Then at my dentist appt. this morning, I stepped on one as I walked in the office door.  There were more inside.  And the hygienists were actually throwing the crickets out the door during my cleaning.  Setting those boogers free.
So apparently our drought has lead to the great cricket invasion of the summer of 2012.
But thanks be, they aren't in our house.

In other news, my hair is growing and I've decided to never cut it until it's the length that I want.  What what.  I'm craving not shoulder-length hair.  So in, like, 3 years, I'll have shoulder-blade length hair.
I'm sorry, but if I trim it every 8 weeks like my hair girl wants me to, I'll never be awesome again.

Running is hard.  I may go back to just jumping around and planking.

I have a new painting idea.  You know how everyone does the silhouette thing with their child's face, with the all black outline? I saw a painting of a little girl holding a bird and thought.  I want to paint Lola holding a bird, but I want it to be really her face, the true shape of her cheeky cheeks and sweet lips.  And then I realized I could do the silhouette thing and then just play with it, throwing in the bird and color and such.  If only I could even halfway capture the light in those eyes.

Maybe I'll make Kate holding a flower and the wind blowing her hair.

I thought of trying a different angle with each girl.  Claire could be wading into a puddle.  I don't know.

This painting each girl silhouette idea came to me in the middle of the night while I was half-sleeping.  Sometimes I get my greatest ideas in my dreams.  I'll let you know how great they turn out.

THose will be so awesome! Crickets are crazy. The other day I was running the Smith Farm loop (by Target) and I was nearly wading through them. Outrageous!

Gross. We do not have crickets here. I like the picture idea. Will you do one of Charlotte chasing a squirrel?
