More of Merry Land

I'm going to jump ahead a couple days into our trip, because I don't have all the pictures off of Nathan's computer.
I do have cell phone pictures of Rehoboth beach.  We drove a couple of hours for a half day lunch/beach/ice cream experience that left us sunburned and happily exhausted.
You know when you just find yourself overwhelmed with gladness?  I stood on the beach watching the girls look, first in terror, at the crashing waves.  It was their first time to ever see the ocean.  It was loud and the waves came quickly and a little cold, rushing up the girls' legs.
They screamed in fright and glee when it only barely licked their toes.
Kate had said for days that she didn't want to go to the beach because she didn't want to get eaten by sharks.
It took Daddy carrying them out there crying, but the crying soon turned to laughing while they jumped the waves.

 Getting used to the water.

 Glorious sand.

Grandpa encouraging the girls to come in. :)  And Nathan out there with Claire.

Cousin Eve is adorable.  We see her about once a year and when she first saw us she gave big hugs and said, "Oh cousin, I've missed you so much."

Oh, and we crossed the Bay Bridge, which is very cool, but my phone camera doesn't capture it's magnitude.

Just catching up on your blog...LOVE getting to see photos of my homeland. Rehoboth beach is the beach we grew up on. You are making me miss it! And then Annapolis...ooh Annapolis...what a small world we live in hmmmm? Too funny about the girls and the ocean. :) Keller was the same way when I took him and he got over it QUICKLY. Next trip with him is going to be insane.
