Ah, this has been a good Monday

Nathan went to CA on Friday for his Grandmother's funeral.  She was a precious lady who loved the Lord.  She lived a rich and long 96 years and had a great impact on her family and anyone who knew her, really.  I'm really glad he got to go be a part of the memorial service and see his family out there.

But he was gone all weekend, and I'm also really, really glad he's back home and that today was school, and that I got to just go sit at my mom's house with her while Lola played with her cousin Adelle.  Also, Mom let me run off to TJ Max for a bit.  I was craving a 3 hr vacation and it just hit the spot.
I kind of felt my brain going in the direction of insanity brought on by exhaustion.  The frequency of face switching had greatly increased by the end of the weekend.

Well, the thing is, I'm a crazy hard worker. :) Sorry, just being honest.  I remember when I was a young girl, someone was talking about some kind of terrier dog that had the drive to run with it's owner.  The drive was so strong that if the owner kept going, the dog would keep running, even to the point of death from exhaustion.  Well, sometimes I feel like a driven terrier dog.
I know, I'm weird, but that thought came to me this weekend because I had decided that I wanted to paint my laundry room and play room (the play room is paneled) all before Nathan got home, I guess just so I could say, "surprise!"  So I set this goal like a maniac dog, and did it, and nearly died.  I'm just strange/awesome like that.

So, in-between Claire's soccer game (which coincided with Lola's nap time that we had to skip), Riley's book club meeting, church, and getting a cookie at Merritt's Bakery...well, and I did stop to feed them meals.  Between all that, I was this panting, rushing terrier with a paint brush in my hand the whole weekend.  It was awesome.  Not only am I a terrier, I am OCD and found a lot of joy in covering the yucky, marked walls with a fresh, light color.
The girls played horse most of the weekend too, so they were busy giving rides and neighing.  It really was a fine time.

But my gracious, we are so happy for the Daddy to be home.

Sometimes I feel like a crazy fast terrier too, except for when I sit in class all day and feel like a restless terrier.
