I've already shared this picture of pitiful with Facebook, but I thought I might share again and tell you the story.
My sweet 2-yr-old has a daily routine of spreading the jelly on her pbj while I spread the peanut butter. It's just one of our many working together times. I stepped away just for a moment and her foot slipped on the stool she was standing on. I just heard the cry, turned around and she was holding her mouth. Oh, how the heart drops when you look and see that the lip of your sweet, squishy one has been pierced through by her little baby teeth.
I'd heard from Sister Al that her own Alayna had a great experience with Dermabond, the super glue for skin. So we headed to the urgent care and waited a couple of hours to get the stuff applied. So glad to have iphone kid games at times like this.
When the nurse questioned, "Is she on any medication? Does anyone in the home smoke? Is she allergic to any medication?..." Lola had all her own questions to accompany those. She kept interrupting to ask, "What's tedications? What are you doing with that computer? We don't have any smoke..." Needless to say, everywhere we went she continued to melt the staff's hearts. By the time we were in the exam room and the doctor had seen us, we had 5 nurses in there just trying to have a conversation with her. She had so much fun.
She got the glue applied, was ushered to the sticker box, the toy box, and the sucker box, because she had been such a beloved customer.
Later that afternoon I surprised her with flu shots (Not purposefully on the urgent care day. It was already scheduled) . Such a sad day. We had to have Cherry Berry that night.
