Good times

Last night we attended the shower of a childhood friend.  I love those childhood friendships.  Our families were the only 2 homeschooled families in our church, so we were dorks together.  Not really.  We were awesome together. :)
We bore the jokes, "So, who's the cheerleader?  Who's the class president?" together and said, "Those fools are so jealous of my collection of jumpers."

So my older sister, Al, and I shared some memories and a little "devotion", which was more like marriage story-telling and reminding each other of the gospel.  It was so great and it made me sad that people have to grow up and move away.  I wish we could go on another fishing trip with Rebekah, and fall down in the river and skin our knees, and send and receive owl calls at night, and sing hymns around the fire.  Then we'd attend an advanced step class and hoot and holler when our legs start burning.  Rebekah hoots and hollers a lot.  She's fun.

There is just nothing like having a history and sharing memories.  It was a really sweet evening and I'm happy my friend is getting married and starting this exciting chapter in her life.
