My bebe. We're so glad we have a Lola. She smiles at me like that every day! "Here Mom, have some joy." She just fills our lives up with it. You know when your heart just feels like it might explode?
I'm not just trying to be mushy. I wake up on the wrong side of the bed sometimes, but one of those smiles lights up any of the weird dark corners I might fall into.
She puts her hands on my cheeks to make me look into her eyes when she talks to me. She has a big head and big, glorious hair. She crawls around neighing like a horse. She raises those eye brows. She has the smooshiest cheeks for kissing. I wish I could pause her at 3. Thank you Lord for precious Lola.
Lola requested a unicorn birthday cake. I found this picture on Pinterest and decided that a lounging horse body would be easier to make. Though not as glamorous as, say, a horse on it's back legs doing a "wheelie" (standing up) type pose. Sorry, I don't know what else to call it.
I started with my lump of Gum-Tex. I kneaded in powdered sugar just until I almost had carpel tunnel.
Then I formed the horse body.
Following the photo as closely as I could, I slapped on some legs. But this girl needed a horn too. I'll ice the mane on later. I am pretty proud of her. We call her Uni. I nixed the "Horny."
I separated the rest of the gum paste into ROYGBIV colors.
These guys will go on a purple cake.
I'll share the final results with you when I put it all together on Friday.

That poop story is awful. I'm totally impressed with your Gum-Tex skills. That cake is going to be one of your best yet!
umm that unicorn is awesome. I am so not ready for kids asking for unicorn cakes ;)
