This is a fun week. It's Lola's birthday week. Her party is on Friday, but I just realized that tomorrow is her actual day of birth and I want to party with her then too with just our family, at breakfast or something.
So after Sam's we slurped down a healthy smoothie and went to a toy store to look around.
I thought I could maybe purchase something without her seeing. They have this table there with a doll house and little animals on it and she love to play with that while I shop. It's perfect.
Well, I was undecided and wanted to look at another store, so I said, "Let's go, Lola. Time to leave." She was standing funny and said, "I peed." Ugh. Darn. That's annoying. But I didn't see anything on the carpet. "Okay, Lola. Let's go get cleaned up." I was headed toward the door and the store lady was bidding us farewell. She smiled and watched us walk out.
It was not until we reached the van that I saw both of Lola's legs just slathered in runny poo. It was the same color as her legs, so I guess that's why I hadn't seen it before. Thankfully, it stopped at her shoes. I have no idea how long that poo was there. Maybe the lady saw it as we walked out and thought I was really stupid for being so chill about it.
The whole time I was cleaning it up, I was thankful for a few things. One, our picnic/soccer game blanket was in the back, so I saved our van interior by putting that under Lola. Two, I happened to grab the wipes on the way out the door, which I don't always do. And there were just enough to clean up the mess (27 or so). I will not be serving healthy smoothies before errand running anymore.
And, I apologize for having bragged about her quick potty training success.
