Oh man, busy days. I have 15 minutes to post something, but I must. I miss talking with you. :)
But it is a darn busy time. I argue with myself about whether I should shower or finish Christmas projects. Yesterday I exercised and blow-dried my sweat just in time to pick up the girls from school and go to Sam's.
Sam's was fun. :)
Now that the girls are in school, it has been a while since I've received the stares from people that remind me how crazy a group of 4 kids and a mom look to them.
I don't know why, lots of people have 4 kids. Anyway, there were some gawkers, and the girls were faithful to put on a show...
Every line was 20 carts long and there was no passing through that whole area of the store...unless you were this little old lady in her electric cart chair.
She just kept coming and people didn't have a choice. She had big, buggy eyes and stared straight ahead. She didn't even flinch when she neared my girls. They actually stopped talking, stared, amazed, and watched her push her way through the ocean of carts in line.
She was a little hunched, a little bug-eyed, and frightening looking. I'm sure she's a sweet lady. These are just the things Lola saw when she spoke up. The old lady had just passed us when Lola gasped and said loudly, "She's a witch!"
I was so shocked! "No! Shhhhhh! That is not nice! No one is a witch. She is a nice lady trying to get her groceries. Don't say that."
But the other girls had already laughed at her and she loves that reaction. So she said loudly again, "She's a witch!"
Oh man. Thankfully the lady was so determined on passing through that she seemed not to pay attention, and hopefully didn't hear those words.
But we were surrounded by people who were already watching us, just because there are a lot of us and we're noisy. So that was the start of the show.
Immediately after that something stank. Kate has huge, emotional reactions and doesn't care who hears her. She covered her face, started gagging and crying. Yes, crying. "Someone tooted! Ew! I can't breath!" Crying. Loudly. Saying "toot" loudly. I hugged her saying, "Okay. Okay. Shhhhhh, let's talk about the tooth more quietly." But the crying and coughing went on for a few minutes.
The show continues...
They all help load the groceries on the line, one girl places the separation stick between our groceries and the nice lady in front of us. Lola grabs the stick. Someone yells, "No! We don't want to lose our groceries! We don't want to pay for hers!" Someone puts the stick back. Lola grabs it again. More yelling.
Anyway...it's fun and entertaining.
School is almost out. I'm sure I'll have more stories the next couple of weeks. :)
It's almost Nathan's birthday. It's almost Ange's birthday. It's almost my birthday. It's almost Riley's birthday. And it's almost Jesus' birthday.
So much to celebrate. Family that I love is coming into town. I'll finish my last Christmas project tomorrow for sure. Then I'll cook birthday food and Christmas food. Nathan will be off work and we'll light up the fireplace. Oh, it makes me so happy.
Gotta run.
