Marmy

Today is my dear mother's birthday.  And did you know, I've known her for a long time, but she still keeps surprising me with how incredible she is.  For most of my life, it was hiding under her robe, smeared mascara, and messy hair while she talked me through my lesson for the day.
Her energy, her sanity, and even her identity was given to teaching and raising us.

Some of us like to mock the dated mom jeans, but when I remember mom jeans and permed hair, I just see this lady who sits at the table grading all of our math, or stands in the kitchen for hours, or the woman who literally explodes with joy when I memorized all my prepositions.  Mom jeans are endearing, smeared mascara is beautiful, permed hair warms my heart, because that's what I remember.
As I got older, I watched her be a nurse to her dying mom and a daughter to her dad when all his other children disowned him.  I think she's tougher than all of us.

Mom is in my sister's personal training group, and Alyson said she is the toughest one in the group, did the most reps, and pushed the hardest.  She's crazy!

She looks all sweet and beautiful and tailored.  And she is.

But she can be tough when she has to. :)

She gives good hugs.

She's great at saying, "Yay!", using exclamation points, and really celebrating life with you. :)
I love her so, so much.  Happy birthday to my beautiful Mom!

Fantastic! What a great gift of admiration to give to a precious lady. You are all a blessed family and glad you enjoy each other and realize what you have.
