Werkernd

Friday night every girl had a place to go spend the night except for Claire, so we finally had some one-on-one time and got in some great bike riding with no training wheels.
I know, most parents have their kids off the training wheels years before now, but man, it's hard finding time for this.  I'm sure we could go out with Kate tomorrow and have her trained up too.  It really is time.  We are so bad/behind.

I was also just so glad we had time with only Claire.  This kind of stuff happens not even annually.  She was SO happy.  This was her perfect evening.  We had one of her favorite dinners, got the bike riding down, and then came home for some cake.  I mean, come on.

I had been wanting to bake a chocolate cake for a couple of weeks, but had remained strong so far.  And then Nathan and his dad had been working on a project together and had successfully reached one of their goals.  So that was all the excuse I needed to make a cake. :)  You have to celebrate these things, you know.
It's my go-to mocha cake.  It has a cup of coffee and a cup of mayonnaise in it.  Let me say, if a cake recipe calls for a cup of mayonnaise, you can know it's a good cake.

Then I made some mocha cream to layer it.  It was a happy night.

Sunday afternoon Grandma took the 2 big girls and I to see Oliver the musical.  It was the first musical for the girls, and they loved it.

Sunday evening ended with Nathan finishing Harry Potter (the book.  The movie is too scary) with the big girls and Kate reading Lola library books while Mommy crocheted.
 Awwwww.

That's your go-to bike riding field. I remember when you videod Riley learning. I would put that at the end of my to-do list as well. Potty training is more important. and Baking cakes.
