Elder sister, Al (we call her the doula) with Mimi and Riley.
I rushed to the hospital when I found out my very own twin was at a 9. But we just watched Rachel Ray and watched the contractions spike on the machine. These things always go slower than you want them to.
You know when you're just so excited you want to climb into the bed with the laboring lady and wrap your arms around her? Well, I wanted to. But instead I took pictures of her warrior braid and asked her how she was doing.
Ange was a trooper. Bob was as cool as a cucumber, asking good questions of the nurse, and saying words like, "stat". It was good to see them through the down time. But I wasn't able to be there all day. Baby Audrey came a few hours later.
We got to see her that evening. I just want to keep her! I managed not to ugly cry. Just sniffed it in and passed her grudgingly to the girls.
They love their cousin so much.
Lola could hardly sleep that night, and just kept saying, "Mom. I reeeeeaaaally want to have a baby." *rubs her tummy* "I want Daddy to build a bed for me to put my baby in." I assured her that we had plenty of time to get a bed for her baby.
I could have looked at this face all night.
I don't know why, but when she gives it all she's got like this, I just want to cry right along with her, because it's beautiful.
Thank you, Lord, for a beautiful, healthy Audrey Nadine. Congratulations, Ange and Bob!
