We've been doing a lot of the normal stuff. I just can't stay on top of the laundry and blog too, so I've been not blogging. :) Also, Lola needs me. Right now she's decorating paper easter egg cutouts. Pizza dough is mixing in the machine. Lucy is eating our 11-yr-old wedding/couch blanket that we received from Janie Trotter (some things just stick in your brain). Good times.
Last night I had wine with dinner, and instead of it making me tired, it made me crazy energized. After dinner (and having bathed 2 kids and cooked dinner and played tug-of-war with a lab simultaneously), I ironed Nathan's pile of shirts, cut his hair, made the girls a snack (zucchini brownies), and rode my bike. I just never know when the energy will be there, so it's pretty exciting when it is, and I go for it. Weird that it came at the end of the day, but I'll take it.
I keep getting Alice Munro books from the library(just finished Dear Life), and keep loving it. Still short stories, which is sad when they end (like, every 12 pages). She writes my favorite way. The awesome way. Not just, "he had wide set eyes" and "I felt sad", but so, so, so much better. I like people's character and she tells me all about that. She tells about their ways and not just what they are doing. I love knowing about people's ways. :) Anyway, Alice is still currently my favorite.
And here's a little catch-up in photos.
Claire was a white-faced mime in her school music program. She was the leader of the mimes, and they went around the stage reacting to different weather situations. :) Cute cute.
We celebrated Grammy's 95th Birthday! It was so fun to go see everyone and celebrate Virginia.
She has a cat named Tom, and she calls for him. The girls love to hear her call for Tom across the farm. They never knew Grammy could be so loud. :)
Grandma made the cake. Pretty and delicious.
These two walked to the pond.
And we got a big family picture in front of the old barn.
In other news.
I got to play with Audrey this week.
And I totally forgot to share about Grandma's valentine tea party she did for the girls and I.
Clearly, Grandma is an artist.
Goat cheese (or humus) stuffed tomato tulips. I love these!
It was so special and yummy.
and cute. :)
