Thanksgiving Week!

makes me so happy.

Short school week.  Short work week.  Enjoying family.  No rushing around in the morning.  Special pumpkin baked things.  Black shopping days (it's a terrible thing, but I can't stay away).  Pulling out Christmas decor.  It's all too exciting.

I'm making a few Christmas gifts and I'm so excited.  The whole time I'm making them I wish I could share them with you.  But of course that would spoil some surprises.  I'd show you the pretty parts and the awesome parts, and how I figured out a way to make it much faster and finer.  I'll show you on December 26th.

Also, I realize I have the same disease my Grandma and my Dad have.  One gift is not enough.  I love you so much, I want to give you a pile! :)

Here's what's been going on:

Kate had her class Thanksgiving feast, sang us a few songs, and we ate chic-fil-a and mac and cheese.  She was so shy with all the parents watching, she hardly sang.  Precious little indian.

Horse play is always the favorite in our house.  Lola is a horse trainer.  They're always snatching the rods out of their roman shades.  tisk tisk.

We have a wide range of horse names that are always at least 4 syllables long.  Rosabella is being trained to hold balloons.  I think Thanalonda is the one outside of the shot.  So creative. :)

When Lola has to eat breakfast, but still wants the comfort of a cold, wet wipe against her skin, the ear is a good place to store it.

This past weekend we got some flat stones to shrink up our very deep flower bed.  You can kind of see the first couple of feet by the sidewalk are dug up so that Nathan can place the stones.
Oh my gracious, shadows are so flattering.

Back in May we took out our half dead, lopsided, overgrown, no longer blooming azalea bushes.  We'll probably wait until spring to put new bushes in, but for now we'll at least prepare the bed.
When we first got the house those bushes were covering half the window, so I trimmed them back.  Then the giant blizzard came and the killer drought.  They were never the same after that.

I leave you with this joyful little number.
