Oh my, I forgot to post a tribute to my love on Valentines day.
Well, the actual day was a bit of a blur.  There was plenty of sugar.  103 valentines.  4 valentine parties.  8 homemade teachers gifts (chocolate dipped pretzels, yo).  1 lb of shrimp, and thankfully, there was a bottle of wine in there somewhere.

I made a heart-shaped breakfast.  Nathan and I got to have a lunch date.  And then I made our favorite Key Lime Shrimp fancy dinner.  We decided to celebrate Valentines day as a family this year.  Very soon we'll be celebrating big for our 10-yr. anniversary, so we're trying not to overwork the babysitters before then. :)

Shall I tell you the first time I felt my heart incline toward Nathaniel?
He was plugging in microphone cords.  So capable. :)
He was wearing corduroy pants and a strange fishing shirt with flaps on the chest.  I thought, "My, what a strange shirt." But the blue of the shirt matched his eyes.  We started our sound check, and when he looked at me and asked how the balance was, I could hardly answer.  "The what?...The balance? Um...Yes, I love the balance.  I absolutely love it."
Then we pretended we both wanted to attend a greek class at the church.  We found it handy to practice vocab together over hot chocolate.

The rest is history.  Mr. Blue Eyes looks at me and asks if I'm ready for him to put the shrimp on the grill.  I have to pause from stirring my key lime beurre blanc, appreciate how capable he is (cooking shrimp scares me), and drink in some eye connection while I send him a "yes sir."
That's the way of it these days, with the kids all in-between.  It wasn't the most romantic valentines day, but it wasn't un-sweet either.  We're rich in sweetness and handmade cards and drinking in some eye-connection over here. :)
