Lola is mesmerizing. The problem is, we make her paranoid about her story-telling or singing, or even just sharing her sweet thoughts. Because as soon as she says, "You're bah-posed to talk polite-ful." All her sisters laugh and repeat what she said and hug her, and she gets mad and hides under a chair.
But I am super conscious about acting like everything that comes out of her mouth is perfectly normal and not cracking me up or melting my heart, even as my heart is melting.
So she usually lowers her voice, leans in close to me, and tells me what's on her mind, while taking side-long glances at her sisters, hoping they don't hear her.
Last night at dinner, immediately after the prayer, she leaned in while everyone else was chatting, and breathed a hushed question in my hear. "Mommy...when will God give me a baby?"
Firstly, I melted because she believes babies are gifts from God. Secondly, she still admires me enough to want to be a mom like me. Thirdly, her breath was in my ear and her hand was on my cheek. :)
I'm so glad her hands are still sort of chubby.

Aww that is so darn sweet. I hope Audrey does sweet things like that at Lola's age. :D
